Painting my instrument Empty
PostSubject: Painting my instrument   Painting my instrument EmptyFri 6 Jan - 5:07

I'm thinking about (spray)painting my bassguitar.. Does anyone of you have any experience with painting his guitar..??
Does it have an effect on it's sound..?? It's a Yamaha RBX260, woodbrown..
I want to spray it mat-black, with glossy-black flames.. does anybody know how to make flames on the body..??

Thanx...

It's a dangerous thing to do by your self on a good instrument!('cause i think it's not your trade) That's a meticulous trade!
I did it several years ago. I've painted Martin Luter King on my first (bad) guitar. The (spray) drawing was cool but...
I didn't pull off the polish... when i was playing and so , touching the body of the guitar with my hands or with sleeves it was like glue! bad sensation!
If you want to do that correctly you'll have to pumice all the body! paint wathever you like and then, put a polish coat... It's a very long and difficult work!
About the flammes ask to Jimmy Hendrix! Laughing
Courage if you try it!

You make me doubt it now, I can't have my bass to be sticky.. Shocked
That will only hurt my arm while playing.. I'll think about it.. Thanx..
